Paul’s Tiree Holiday Day 1
Well, we’ve arrived on the Isle of Tiree. So much to pack last night, and we set off at 2am. I didnt sleep beforehand or on the ferry. The boat left Oban on the Scottish mainland at 7am and we even saw some basking sharks in the Sound of Mull.
We arrived in Tiree at 11.15am in glorious sunshine. Turned out to be a nice warm day, if a little breezy.
Firstly, after a quick shop, we went to our cottage and thankfully everything was in order, the way it had been left. Very little maintenance will be needed, although the garden is a little overgrown and needs some weeds removed.
Went round to the cemetary in the afternoon and i laid some flowers on my parents grave. Quickly went around some of the other accommodation to ensure the aunts and uncles had all arrived safely too. Then, we went to the local community hall and set out all the tables for my sister’s wedding. Decorated the hall with candles, balloons and more all ready for tomorrow’s wedding.
Got back to the cottage for some dinner.
Took the dogs a fantastic walk along a nearby beach! (See above video). The beaches are clean , white sands and the sea a beautiful aquamarine.
Settled down to watch TV and a few drinks. Been a long day. It’s Saturday night and i’ve not slept 1 hour since Thursday night. Heading to bed right now and ready for Lorna’s big day tomorrow.
